Shine Was Awesome

Posted in

Hi everyone,
On Thursday last week we screened the profile project to an audience of 200 Khmer and expat Battambangians to cap off the Shine Human Rights Festival. The videos were a great way to end the event and we were really happy that they were seen by a public audience. Bringing together the NGO community, foreign volunteers, local students, street families and members of the broader Battambang community was what this event was all about and to see it all happen in the middle of town was absolutely fantastic.

I know that it hasn't necessarily been a smooth road - I ended up finishing the last video download and racing across town with a laptop 10 minutes before the screening - and I really appreciate all the hard work you've put in designing, discussing and producing these videos.

Thanks so much for all your dedication working through communication difficulties, timeframe difficulties, video format difficulties and any other variety of difficulty I may have missed. We've gained a huge amount from working with you, and we look forward to taking all that into our future online volunteering projects. I hope you guys got a lot out of it too; stay in touch, and give us a shout if you ever feel like dropping by Battambang, Cambodia ;)

Cheers,
Justin
