Based in Battambang, Cambodia, Kinyei seeks a new operational paradigm in the international development space by enabling volitional and informal connections between individuals, organizations and communities.
We’re a social project incubator of sorts, whether that means referring someone on to a useful resource or running engagement projects of our own. We’re interested in the human connections that happen when creative motivated minds get together and in the expected and unexpected things that can result from this collaboration. Details of the projects we’re currently involved with can be found here on our website.

In the pipes:
Hack Night
Following on the heels of an Open Workshop series that evolved into a semi-regular tech skillshare run by local students, the Kinyei’s Hack Night will be a regular open space style institution where students, hobbyists and professionals can come to work on their projects, run informal seminars and benefit from virtual workshops run by guest experts from around the world. Coming soon!
Trampoline Battambang
The wildly successful Trampoline un-conference will be coming to Battambang! Trampoline has been running in Australia for 3 years and has shown itself to be a great format for the sharing of skills, ideas and dreams. Bringing the event to Battambang in late 2011, Kinyei hopes to fire up the city’s passionate and entrepreneurial youth in a weekend of round table discussions and ad-hoc presentations based on topics the participants themselves come up with.
